Anger and Division Are Human, Not Divine
Currently in the United States, people are divided politically down the middle.
It’s really close to a 50/50 divide.
Who is right?
Who is wrong?
Americans are in a tribal fight, staying immersed in their anger.
There is no civil debate; only keeping anger alive.
When people respond to anger back and forth, the content of their messages is not heard or debated.
That only perpetuates a cycle of anger.
Angry people intend to cause physical or emotional harm to others, not to resolve issues or understand others’ points of view.
That is human beings’ way of using power, force, and punishment to win battles or arguments.
That is how human beings “teaches” each other.
Does it work?
Is it effective?
Just look at our prison systems.
We teach each other through forceful, painful, and suffering consequences, such as imprisonment.
Instead, we should teach each other through loving and forgiving.
Expert Giver Groups, which provide such instruction in society at large, could be equally effective in prisons.
Martin Luther King, Jr., said:
We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive. He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love. There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us. When we discover this, we are less prone to hate our enemies.
He also said:
Man must evolve for all human conflict a method which rejects revenge, aggression, and retaliation. The foundation of such a method is love.
Punishment and suffering are the methods we use to attempt to change others’ behavior.
What is missing when we attempt to teach others with forceful, painful, and suffering consequences?
Love and forgiveness are missing.
What is needed is for us to teach each other with love and forgiveness.
That is the opposite of using anger, power, force, violence, pain, or fear of those things to change behavior.
Love, forgiveness, patience, kindness, and tolerance expressed toward angry individuals melt their defenses, which allows them to learn by your example.
There is no defense against love.
Our fear-based instinctual nature to survive is unforgiving and conditionally loving, which means expecting money, sex, or control in return.
Our human nature is an eye for an eye, revenge, hate, anger, violence, and war.
God’s nature is unconditional love and forgiveness.
Defeating anger is required for human spiritual evolution.
Our first goal is to respond to anger by not reacting in kind.
Our second goal is to respond to anger with unconditional love and forgiveness.
Unconditional love and forgiveness will overcome anger, violence, hate, and unforgiveness.
Up to now, fear has been running the show in the world.
Human beings were created with fear to protect them to survive in the flesh.
Fear makes human beings unloving and unforgiving in order to survive.
Our task is to overcome our fears, which tell us to seek revenge and be selfish.
Unconditional love and forgiveness confront and conquer our fears.
God created us with fear, which enables us to stay alive without Him.
When unloving and unforgiving human beings enable unconditional love and forgiveness in their lives, that will bring God into this world to exist in union with us.
Fear must be continually ignored and overcome in order for us to become unconditionally loving and forgiving.
Due to our human nature without God, which makes us unloving and unforgiving, we are attracted to revenge, anger, drama, tribalism, and others’ failures.
Like moths to a flame, we are continually attracted to the negative news cycles that we now have around the clock on all TV stations and social media.
Algorithms draw us to negative news, which is where the biggest profits lie.
In the future, Expert Giver Groups will enable people to remove the blocks that prevent them from unconditionally loving and forgiving others.
As that movement grows, people will turn away from negative news and divisiveness, completely stop arguing, and only tune into positive stories about people who are unconditionally loving others.
The mainstream new cycles will transition to accounts of people giving to others out of love in beautiful ways.
These accounts will include stories of people reconciling, stories of people making amends for harms they have done to others, stories of healing, and stories of people stopping cycles of abuse and pain through love and forgiveness.
