The most difficult thing for me to do is to look at myself with total honesty.
Why is it so hard to see where I am at fault, and where I am to blame?
I want to blame you, not me.
I don’t want to be embarrassed, or to say I’m sorry.
I don’t like admitting that I’m wrong.
But if I do admit my mistakes and apologize for them, I feel better afterward.
And if I don’t admit my mistakes and apologize for them, or if I blame someone else for them, that doesn’t make me feel good.
I want to feel good.
Why would I deliberately choose to look at something about myself that doesn’t feel good?
The reason is so that I can eventually feel better.
So, am I really going to delay feeling good in the moment in order to feel better in the future?
I suppose that’s a good reason to do it.
But do I feel like doing it now?
No.
But will I choose to do it later because it makes me feel better?
Sure.
Self-examination, self-honesty, and humility are part of this process.
We all need spiritual guidance from a higher power.
The first step is to admit that we need that spiritual guidance.
It’s a choice.
Once I willingly open the door to the spiritual guidance, that is all the higher power requires of me.
I don’t have to figure anything else out.
The higher power will patiently and lovingly teach me the answers to all my questions .
How does that work?
First, let go of all negative associations with the word God.
For thousands of years, human beings have used the name of God to justify violence and to gain power, money, and sex.
But human beings have done this, not God.
I am part of God’s creation, but there is much I don’t understand.
There are many things about God and life that I will never fully understand.
We all should keep the concept of God as simple as possible.
I believe that God is good, loving, trustworthy, and all-powerful.
I have rejected any negative concepts of God.
You can use various names for God, including the Creator, the Higher Power, the Universe, or anything else.
I refer to God as Him, because that is how God is referred to in the Bible, but God could be a Father or a Mother, masculine or feminine.
Thus, when I speak of God, I use masculine phrasing. For example:
When I listen to Him, I trust His guidance.
He turns my problems into solutions.
He brings success to my failures.
He brings light into any darkness I encounter.
He leads me in ways that satisfy me the most.
At times, He guides and teaches me gently with humor.
He comforts me when I am alone.
He gives me answers from the void when I ask profound questions.
But I need patience to wait for His answers.
He guides me to become more loving and forgiving toward others.
His spirit is love.
His love flows through me to others.
His will is for me to connect with others, channeling His spirit of love.
It is my choice to allow this connection with God.
When I choose to connect with Him, He guides me, protects me, and provides for me.
All that I have described above has come true for me.
My connection with God is as real as real can be.
I want others to have their own personal relationship with God.
That relationship can be simple if we don’t complicate it, argue about it, or create rules about it.
God is always ready to make that connection.
All one has to do is make a simple start by giving up control.
Begin by affirming two things: (1) God is with you; and (2) God can and will solve any problem.
Relax and let God handle things.
Keep your concept of God simple.
When you surrender control to God, ignoring and dismissing your fears, you will be at peace.
God loves you eternally and unconditionally.
Accept His love and His guidance.
God will show you the way in perfect timing, down to the second, to what will satisfy you most.
Don’t try to control things or worry.
If you do, you are letting fear lead you.
Let faith lead you, not fear.
The choice is yours.
Be at peace as you move forward in your faith.
Let love guide you, instead of fear.
Overcome fear with faith.
God created human beings.
God wants to be in union with human beings.
Human beings are fallen angels, separate from God, although made in His image.
It is up to human beings to surrender their will to God’s will.
Human beings’ will is driven by instincts for survival, which make them selfish and tribal.
That selfishness and tribalism were required for human survival until now.
God created human beings with fear and selfishness so that they could protect themselves and survive until now without a direct connection to Him.
The next step in evolution is for human beings to let go of resentment and anger through forgiveness, which will enable a union with God.
Since God is love, union with Him will enable love to heal our world, creating a new heaven on Earth.
Man’s great challenge is to overcome the hard wiring of fear with faith.
Our instincts make us want to fight and seek revenge.
But now the challenge is to overcome those instincts by opposing them with love and forgiveness.
How do we do that?
By connecting with God.
God is real.
God will become more defined for each person over time.
God’s spirit is unconditional love and forgiveness.
We are unique points of awareness / consciousness, all part of the same One Creator, ultimately part of One collective consciousness.
