Put Your Fears in Check
Any time a fear begins in your head, ask yourself, “Is this happening right now?”
Most of the time, it is not.
Your brain is making up a story about a fear that may happen in the future.
Most of those stories never come about, so you are just stressing yourself out for nothing.
To confront this bad habit of fear taking over your imagination, stop the story and look around at where you are.
Then say out loud, “This story is not happening right now; God is with me.”
Remind yourself that you are taking life one day at a time.
Tomorrow does not yet exist.
You are not living there.
You are living today.
You have no need to imagine a horrible future.
You are okay, and you will continue to be okay, no matter what.
Take a few slow deep breaths and relax.
All is well.
You have conquered whatever the frightening story was and extinguished it.
Enjoy the rest of the day without stress or worry, free from fear.
God has you completely covered with His loving guidance and protection.
