A Selfish Nature
In our primal state, there is a selfish and unforgiving nature, dictated by fear.
This same nature appears in animals.
However, there are also examples of love and forgiveness in both humans and animals.
For example, consider lions.
As a human, you wouldn’t want to encounter an adult lion in the wild because it is driven by selfish and unforgiving instincts for survival.
Adult lions follow their carnal needs to survive, driven entirely by their instincts.
Now consider “tame” lions.
What makes them tame?
One method is to whip them, using punishment to shape their behavior.
They perform out of fear under the threat of pain.
Without love, the trainers only use force to make the lions obey, with the threat of pain as a consequence of disobedience.
But the lions hate the human trainer.
To them, he is a selfish, unforgiving figure who controls them through fear of punishment.
This method is not good.
The lions hate the trainer who has trapped them in an abusive prison.
As a side note, almost all “wild” animals are “innocent” and loving before puberty.
The “wild” instincts kick in when they develop urges to kill for food and procreation.
This involves fighting other animals for territory and maintaining sexual partners in a battle for survival.
Their lives no longer consist of innocent play. In the wild, it is kill or be killed—the survival of the fittest.
At a primal level, we humans share similar traits.
We are the highest form of God’s creation on Earth, made in the image of our Creator.
Our task is to become a loving and forgiving, overcoming our selfish primal survival nature based on fear.
Our task is to make love win.
Now, let’s look at a different kind of relationship between humans and lions—one based on love from the beginning.
In 1969, two Australians, Anthony “Ace” Bourke and John Rendall, acquired a boisterous lion cub in London named “Christian.”
As the cub grew, they didn’t want to put him in a zoo, so they placed him in Kenya with George Adamson, known as the “father of lions.”
A year later, after Christian was fully integrated into a lion pride, Bourke and Rendall returned to visit him.
The amazing love of the lion for the men, with a cub-like innocence, can be seen on a YouTube video by searching for “Christian the Lion.”
That loving reunion was possible because the relationship was built on love and trust.
If a lion can do that despite its predatory instincts, so can we.
To return to innocence, listen to your heart, trusting it over your instincts and fears.
Without love and forgiveness, people are wild and untamed, living by selfish, unforgiving, fear-based survival instincts.
How do we forgive others and ourselves?
The only thing we need is the willingness to do it.
The greatest first step is to become open to forgiving others.
When a thought comes into your head about individuals you dislike, hate, or resent, say to them in your mind or out loud, “I completely forgive you (mention their name); I break the chain of hate that links me to you; may peace and love be with you; you are free, and I am free.”
When thoughts of those people come up again, say in your mind or out loud, “I have forgiven you; bless you, and may peace and love be with you.”
If you repeat this every time the people come up in your mind, you will find that eventually, all your hatred, resentment, and dislike have disappeared completely, and your forgiveness of them is complete.
Next, forgive yourself for harming yourself in any way.
Repeat to yourself, “I forgive you (say your full name); may peace and love be with me; I am free.”
When thoughts of past guilt come up again, say, “I have forgiven myself for that; may peace and love be with me; I am free.”
You will find that you have forgiven yourself, and no longer sabotage or punish yourself or create limitations in your life.
You have set others and yourself free.
We must forgive those we resent or hate to let go of anger, which hinders our ability to become a vessel for love.
The goal in this life is to overcome our selfishness and fear by practicing love and forgiveness.
The tools to achieve Heaven on Earth are now here.
The way out of pain in this life is to have our Creator revealed to us.
The Creator of us all is loving and forgiving.
If you are in fear, trying to control your future, God is not there.
God is in the present.
Release control to God in the present.
Stay out of the future, where your fears and need to control reside.
Once you give up control of the future by channeling God’s love to yourself and others in the present, God will provide perfect directions to you in the form of thoughts, solutions to complex problems, protection, and helpful resources.
As you channel God’s love and follow His directions in the present, staying out of the future, God will reveal Himself to you more and more.
He will give you whatever will satisfy you most.
Be patient.
Ask, and you shall receive.
However, if what you ask for does not come quickly, let it go.
Don’t force it.
That means it is not His will.
God speaks through your thoughts, through other people, and even through social media.
Let go and let God control your life.
Stay in the present, surrendering your will to Him, and follow His directions, which will always lead to loving and forgiving others unconditionally.
Start a personal relationship with the Creator of the universe.
Be a part of creating Heaven on Earth with Him.
The answer to how to unlock true happiness, peace, and joy has arrived.
Take a deep breath.
Take life one day at a time.
God will reveal Himself to you more each day.
This is such good news—far better than you could have imagined.
Up to now, your life has been confusing and painful.
Everyone is frightened and distrustful, fighting with each other, selfishly striving to obtain sex, money, and control of others.
If you ever thought you had a problem with God, that problem was really with people who claimed to represent God but didn’t.
